Genspect Australia is a health promotion charity focussed on evidence-based care, respectful dialogue and informed decision making in relation to sex and gender.
Genspect Australia is part of the Genspect international network, an interdisciplinary alliance spanning over 20 countries, committed to supporting individuals experiencing gender-related distress, and those who care for them. Genspect provides evidence-based information, peer support, and expert clinical insight to promote thoughtful, ethical approaches to care.
Our work in Australia builds on these values, and responds to the specific needs of Australian families, professionals, and communities. We launched in Australia in 2022 and incorporated as a not-for-profit company in 2025.
Our Board
Genspect Australia is governed by a volunteer board with backgrounds in medicine, mental health, law, research, and community advocacy, as well as experience supporting families affected by gender-related distress. The Board is committed to advancing ethical, evidence-informed care and ensuring families and individuals can access clear information about available support options grounded in compassion and informed choice.
